What is the Dual Diagnosis Group?

This Group is primarily for clients who have alcohol related problems and co-occuring mental health issues. Clients who do not have a mental health disorder may participate in this group, once approved to do so by the clinical staff.

How long does the group last for?

The duration of the group is 15 weeks. For some clients, the duration may be extended for a period of time with the approval of the clinical staff. The group meets on Monday mornings 10am to 12 noon.

The focus of the group is to enable clients to:

1. gain a greater understanding of, and take ownership of thier alcohol problem.
2. increase awareness of how alcohol and other addictions and mental health disorders interact with each other,
3. identify triggers in order to prevent or reduce the risk for a relapse with their alcohol problem, or mental health disorder or both.
